Brief Introduction

Dr. Simon Wu’s main area of expertise is in company, commercial and business laws. Dr. Wu is the author of “A guide to H Share Listings” (2013) and “A Guide to GEM Listings in Hong Kong” (2014 and 2018 2^nd edition), both published by Wolters Kluwer. He also published a number of research papers on the securities markets in Mainland China and Hong Kong and is the author of Volumes 3 and 4 of “The Hong Kong Encyclopedia of Forms and Precedents” (company formation, registration and general company matters) published by LexisNexis Butterworths in 2015 and the revised Volume 9 of the same series in 2019. He has also contributed practice notes and precedents to Lexis Practical Guide (Corporate – GEM).

He was an Associate at a city firm in Hong Kong between 1997 and 2001 where he mainly handled IPO-related and listed companies-related matters. Since 2007 he has been an occasional Visiting Fellow at the School of Law, City University of Hong Kong. He has also been a law tutor in the Department of Accountancy at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
